Getting to know a unique and extraordinary artist was a highlight of Ocean Springs for our family

点评：We'd never heard of Walter Anderson before visiting, but getting to know him, his work, and his family was fascinating. His passion for nature, challenges fitting into society, and depictions of the coast were inspiring for my family.
This was a highlight of an already wonderful visit to Ocean Springs. We hadn't intended to visit, but it was an uncharacteristically blustery day in March and our kids were wanting to try something indoors. I'm so glad it worked out this way, because I would not have wanted to miss out on this extraordinary museum. Two of my kids (ages 9 and 13) and I used the audio guides, and learned so much. My husband and oldest child (age 16) prefer reading and silence, so they skipped the audio guides and explored with the signage. We all had an amazing visit.
Note that visiting the community center is free - I would not miss that for anything while visiting OS. But I'm glad we visited with our museum audio guides, because we got so much more out of it.
We were there for 2-3 hours. It was busy, but not crowded. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I truly would not miss this museum if I were in Ocean Springs for any amount of time beyond a few hours. We really appreciated the educator and student discounts. Don't miss it!
