点评:This trail is a gem and is, for about half of it, paved. It runs along the coast from the south entrance, through the botanical garden, and then to the north of the garden. One can get right down to the water at two inlets. BTW - there is NO swimming here. Go there and you'll see why. The paved end is anchored at the southern entrance (there are two - the northern end is the Donkey trail and we didn't go up to that, but it looks like it's pretty much up/downhill and dirt. The pavement stops just north of the botanical garden. Be warned - there is no parking for the southern entrance. There's a corner with just enough shoulder for three cars max to park at one time on the southbound side of the road about 200 feet north of the south entrance. There are NO sidewalks. I would never take small kids to the southern entrance. An alternative for small kids would be to get tickets to the Botanical Garden which has plenty of parking and gives you access to the trail up until closing. Don't be on the trail after the gardens close or you'll be hiking to either north or south entrances and then taking quite a risk walking on the coastal road to get back to your care at the botanical garden's parking lot.
