点评:This Visitor Centre is very much a mixed bag...
The centre itself has great wheelchair access and the toilets (including my use of the disabled toilet) were clean and well maintained. The shop is a great example of how just a few extra inches makes things much easier for a wheelchair user to negotiate. I know many places who could learn from it.
Unfortunately, when we visited (November 2024), the car park area closest to the centre was closed. This meant parking in the further away community car park, which then entails using a path across which, while not impossible, is awkward for wheelchair users.
However, the views, even just from the car park, are magnificent.
The small exhibit area is a bit tired... neither of the audio posts were working, and there wasn't much fresh or interesting stuff if you already have a basic knowledge of the Raising of the Standard.
The shop is full of great souvenirs ( and the inevitable section of keepsakes related to that wizarding franchise) and a large selection of relevant and not-so-relevant books.
Obviously, the monument itself isn't accessible for wheelchairs but, at 210 years old, what on earth do you expect?
The Centre is great for tourists who know little of the events of 1745 or if you need the loo but, otherwise, just stay outside and enjoy the views of the viaduct and Loch Shiel.
