点评：Small campsite on a working farm in rural Herefordshire. Very pretty location & lovely & peaceful. Although the B437 that runs right past it is quite busy at times we weren't disturbed by traffic noise. The camping field is very small (I think it has a maximum capacity of 12 tents/campervans?) plus the top part has a steep slope so is unuseable for pitching which limits the space in the rest of the field. There is one female & one male toilet situated in the farmyard. The female loo was lovely & clean with plenty of loo rolls, liquid soap & paper towels & also has a baby changing unit & free feminine hygiene products which is very thoughtful. There are 2 unisex showers, again very clean. The drinking water tap is also in the farmyard plus there's hot water & a Belfast sink for washing up. We didn't visit the restaurant but it looked very nice & was very popular, especially at Sunday lunchtime. There is inside & outside seating including a barn with straw bales to sit on. There are a few public footpaths through the fields although none of them go to Abbey Dore which was a bit disappointing. We wanted to walk to the 12th century Abbey but didn't want to walk on busy country roads & lanes so had to give it a miss. The pretty little River Dore runs through the farm & it was lovely for the dog to cool off in it. As it's a working farm there were cows & calves grazing in some of the fields so we avoided as we had a dog with us. There are pygmy goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys & geese on the farm which were very sweet to watch plus we saw a stunning red kite & a couple of pheasants. The farmer & staff were really welcoming & friendly & knowledgeable about the area. Overall we enjoyed our stay but the prices seem a bit too high for the facilities offered on the campsite. We've paid less for electric hookup pitches on other sites with laundry facilities & Elsan disposal points etc. Maybe a discount on the pitch fee could be offered if you eat in the restaurant? Or vice versa? The weather was fabulous so we didn't mind just relaxing outside our vans but not sure what we could have done in bad weather as the site is in the middle of nowhere. Ok if you're in a tent & can drive off somewhere but, unless you want to pack up your camper & leave your pitch, you're stuck.
