点评:A coworker told me about Lake Alpine, so we decided to check it out. I did some research online and decided on Bee Gulch for our base camp. The parking lot was small, but it did have two vault toilets There was a spigot next to the toilets to wash your hands. Near the water spigot was where we paid the $5 parking fee. Hubby filled out a small piece of paper (put it on your dash), then he used a QR code to pay the fee. We arrived a bit late (almost 11:00 am), so the lot was almost full! Fortunately, we were able to find a spot. There was a walking trail that looped the whole lake. The beach/water was down a sloped embankment from the Lot. There were two picnic tables near the walking trail. We had to make multiple trips to get our SUPs, kayak and other gear down to the beach area. Taking them down wasn’t bad, but going back up was a little challenging (after paddling all day)! I’d definitely recommend bringing an all-terrain wagon to carry your things! Something surprising was how thick the mud was in that area! Getting in and out of the water was challenging because our feet sank into the mud and required effort to pull them out! The other to note was how windy it was! I don’t know if it’s windy all the time, or just on that day. Despite all those things, we enjoyed our day.
