点评:It isn't complicated to visit this museum if you do a little advance planning. It isn't a spur of the moment kind of attraction. We also went on a Saturday, and the Farmer's Market takes up most of the parking lot. Avoid it at all costs and park on the street. You meet at a bus stop in Danville by the parking lot, and the NPS ranger transports you to the O’Neill home, which is located up a winding, circuitous road in a gated community. You tour the home, which lasts about an hour or so, then are given a few minutes to tour the grounds (not much to see there). The house itself is interesting. The views are spectacular from the hilltop. The O’Neills sold the home in 1944, and there have been a few other owners, so most of the limited furnishings are not original. But there are a lot of photographs and the basic layout of the home is the same. Hillary, who led our tour, gave an excellent history of Eugene O’Neill and his career and family and the home. She was very knowledgeable and you could tell she was passionate about her job. There is a small gift shop and restroom at the home. Highly recommend taking a tour of the home.
