Cool area with historic charm and neat local businesses

点评：Nice area! I visited on a frigid winter day, so there were not a lot of people out and about, but I nevertheless enjoyed my time in this area of the city and anticipate that on a nice spring, summer, or fall day the area would be even better.
Cool architecture--a lot of pretty warehouse-style buildings that are well-preserved. The area is easily explored in about half a day. It's a nice concentration of local businesses, restaurants, and hotels. I liked that there were not very many chains, and some of the stores had quirky character.
There were a lot of appealing dining options, ranging from craft breweries with casual atmospheres to some fancier places with beautiful dining rooms. A nice mix of cuisines, too--Mexican, Asian, seafood, steak, etc. And some coffee shops, too.
Definitely a great place to check out when in Omaha and, have to say, a neighborhood of this character was a pleasant surprise for this business traveler, even on a cold winter day!
