Visiting the home of my favorite domestic beer turned out even better than I could’ve imagined!
阿勒加什啤酒厂的点评
点评：When my friend said we’d be traveling near Portland, Maine, I had one request: to see the home of my favorite domestic beer, Allagash White.
At the brewery, one can “take flight” and try four small pours of their fine offerings, which we both did and truly enjoyed.
My flight included my favorite Allagash White (always delivers), a blueberry wine (not too memorable), their blueberry ale (wonderful!) and a sweet stout with vanilla bean notes (an excellent recommendation by the bartender).
The charming and affable hostess recommended we try the offerings from the food truck - Bite of Maine - and the sandwiches we ordered were divine! My friend had the grilled chicken and I had the caprese - with big slices of tomato and cheese - both on a fresh focaccia roll and paired with tasty potato chips.
*Every employee - at the bar, food truck and merch shop - was super friendly and cheerful. The vibe was positive-plus. I’m elated to learn that my most beloved beer is made at what’s now one of my favorite breweries! Thank you, Team Allagash!
Also, a tip of the cap to a program they have where anyone who needs someone to “look out for them” can ask any employee wearing a leaf pun. I wish all bars and breweries were that thoughtful and considerate of their patrons!
