Nice to visit but don’t see much of the castle

点评：We were undecided about visiting here after reading some reviews but as we are national trust members we went. Parking was at castle Barton tea rooms across the road but parking there is limited and fills quickly and people park stupidly blocking others in. The castle itself was about 2 rooms downstairs and 2 upstairs, you can also go into the little church at the front. For me, the inside was ok but you don’t see much as the castle is lived in. The gardens made it worthwhile, there was a few areas and one out the back had a small area with plants and flowers where there were so many butterflies it was amazing to see, there as also some pretty amazing lavender bushes and a load of apple trees in a small orchard. As a family we enjoyed the gardens more but it would be a lot to pay to visit as a non member of the national trust especially for what you get to see inside
