Played in benefit scramble. Facility can handle large crowd, both for routing players and for food service. Chef can provide a variety of food options, depending on what your crowd wants. Besides golf, a popular site for wedding receptions and group events. Excellent teamwork among friendly staffers.
Course
Most holes built in flood plain which creates maintenance challenges. Course manicuring better than in past, helped in part by drier weather.
Meramec and Prairie nines have a mixed linksland-marshland motif, with mounding and ridges and elevated greens created from soil removed from digging lagoons.
Meramec most benevolent of the nines, with gentle rise and fall. Prairie nine more target golf amid water and bunkers, with water on six of last nine holes.
Woodlands has most terrain rise and fall of the three. Watch your step so you don't sprain an ankle. Plenty of opportunity to use mounding and elevation changes to shape your approaches. (Note: did not play Woodlands this time.)
The valleys amid the elevation changes can create wind tunnels that can influence distance of shots on some holes.

Added benefit is the practice range. Three main nodes have grass hitting tees, plus several practice greens. Balls complementary for players. Note that range is located about 500 yards from clubhouse and Prairie and Woodlands first tees, so get there early for warm-up.
