Galleon Marine Boatyard的点评
点评：I just want to reiterate what so many have said before, that this is a wonderful place and we had a really lovely time this past week.
Of the narrowboats we have hired, Hazel was by far the best equipped and as I wrote in the guestbook, I only wish I had taken the time to read what was sent to me ahead of the booking more thoroughly as we took loads of things we needn't have from folding chairs to tea & coffee, all of which were on the boat already.
The map and handover were superb, again all done to make the trip enjoyable and easy. On the Oxford canal, we spent all our time trying to navigate from a book with a tiny diagram, whereas Galleon provide a waterproofed A4 map with loads of info and tips included.
The comments others have made about it being an excellent training ground for would be canal boaters also struck a chord as there are no locks at all for the first 12 miles of the canal, and indeed very few other vessels to negotiate, so there is plenty of time to get the hang of managing the boat.
The Basingtoke Canal is stunningly beautiful and a real hidden gem.
We will definitely be back for another go in the future.
