Aim to be on a boat by 9am if you can. We went early October on a Sunday. There were plenty of people already there but it was not at the point of having to queue.
Take the following, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water and more water. We didn’t see a single mosquito. It can get very humid.
It really is easy to do this tour without the inflated price of a tour company. It’s very easy to purchase your chosen tour at the ticket counter, which is easy to find.
Once you have your ticket you walk to the dock where organised chaos really works!
All the boats are the same. Open topped, beach seats and not a lot else. All the boats are numbered, remember it for when you stop. The staff allocate you a boat depending on how many in your group. There were 2 of us and we had a single lady join us.
Bright orange life vests are worn and there are umbrellas to provide shade.
You are propelled along at a gentle pace by a member of staff. There are a couple of stops centred around temples, the last being better than the first. Small shops provide refreshments.
The scenery is lovely and if you’re lucky the monkeys come close to the water’s edges.
Overall it’s worth doing although you get a numb bum!
