Venice is fantastic.... well, everything except Vetreria Estevan Rossetto

点评：Venice is a beautiful city that I would highly recommend. But skip the side tour to Ventreria Estevan Rossetto on Murano.
We visited by water taxi from our hotel to Murano. We received a very brief demonstration of the glass factory but soon learned that the primary purpose was to sell us glass. That's fine, we planned on purchasing some anyway. We settled on a set of glasses for around $800. The price was steep, but the glasses they showed us in the display room were beautiful! What a great way to remember Venice for years to come.
Let's just say that those were not the glasses that arrived at our house one month later. One of the glasses has a sharp edge on the bottom which will scratch a table and possibly cut your hand. This same glass is so severely misshapen that it is almost unusable. A couple of the other glasses probably should have not made it past their quality control. We mentioned all of this to the glass manufacturer once we discovered the poor workmanship, but they have not responded to multiple contacts over the last 2 months. We have learned the hard way that their customer service and craftmanship are extremely poor.
Enjoy Venice but don't ruin the trip by going to Murano. Instead, you can buy similar glasses at a local vendor for 1/10 the price. With any luck those glasses might even be round...
