点评:I am not too surprised at some of the reviews on here, but I would like to help clarify because we really REALLY enjoyed our experience.
The first thing to know is that this is no fancy polished up tasting room on a perfectly manicured winery, this is a working farm. Even more so, it is worked primarily by Jim - the owner, while also taking care of his wife who isn't in great health currently. She was a great help around the farm, but now it is mostly just him.
If you're a polished 5-diamond type, you may not feel comfortable here. But if you're in to farming, growing food, real authentic people and don't mind a little dust on the edges here and there, you will Love your time here. It truly is a special operation.
Jim's passion for great organic fruit wine and serving people keeps this place humming along though. And the wines are delicious!! So good. And very unique. You simply won't find fruit wine like this anywhere else.
Jim's wife owned her own winery and produced grape wines years ago. It is from that wisdom and experience, along with Jim's attention to detail and years of experience experimenting, that they have perfected organic fruit wines including blueberry wine, kiwi, rhubarb (what?!? yes, it's amazing), cider, honey mead and more.
If he doesn't share some of the history straight away (Jim loves telling stories of their rich and vibrant story, but isn't boastful and bragging) just ask him about their history, the story of the land they are on, the home they live in (how it got there pulled by oxen across the frozen lake!) and so many more treasured memories!).
Give them a shot. Sit around Jim's table. Ask him to tell you some stories of their history. And savor the memories as you savor the best (and only!) organic fruit wines on the east coast. You'll be grateful you did.
