点评:This rating and review is merely about the customer service aspect of the rangers at both the entry checkpoint and trade post shopping center of this hiking and natural area. For a place I had grown up visiting many times to enjoy hikes and hadn’t been to in at least 15 years, I am so disappointed with the obligation of reporting the terrible experience of the rangers today.
My friend and I used an Uber to access the trailhead which seemed like a normal thing to do for 2023 and sights globally have made accommodations for ride share programs. At the entry checkpoint where guests pay $12 per adult, the ranger was rude to our Uber driver and pre-accused him of “going to not pay and stay in the park after dropping us off” which was not true and he was a working his job as a driver and already getting other calls.
When it was time to get picked up after we finished hiking, my friend and I noticed on the Uber app that our vehicle was stuck at the entry and not being allowed up to the checkpoint. The driver contacted us that the rangers were not going to allow her to come get us because she did not have an “Uber sign” on her vehicle even though we were told there wouldn’t be a problem getting Uber from entry point to the trailhead when it was time to leave. The driver communicated with us on the app that she was offering to loan out her actual driver license which the ranger stupidly rejected and did not want to accept as validity for picking up patrons of the hiking trails. I went into the shopping trade post and asked a ranger up there if they could phone down to the ones at the entry point to say we were waiting and the Uber driver should be allowed to pass. The ranger immediately responds to me “that’s a sore subject around here, we don’t like Uber and we won’t help you with that” alleging that too many drivers have snuck in without paying. Needless to say we were upset about his behavior as well as the ranger at the entry that was not allowing up our driver. The driver took it upon herself to get a managers phone number and explain herself which finally helped and the driver was able to get us.
I am upset to have to provide this review but it is imperative that visitors of this beautiful park and trails must know.
