Bedford County Covered Bridge Driving Tour的点评
点评：Our favorite activity is driving around, looking for interesting roads and places. This driving tour was a perfect way to spend a Fall day. We were able to drive over many of the bridges. Others are not traversable but had ample parking and made for a pleasant stroll. The changing colors of the foliage, bird song, roosters crowing, and the smell of newly mown hay were delightful. It's amazing that wooden bridges built over 100 years ago are still in such good condition.
Be aware that the Turner Covered Bridge along Route 31, west of Manns Choice is on Faupel Road which, although county-owned, is a poorly maintained, rutted, gravel road. The road ends at the bridge and the bridge is not traversable. If your vehicle has low ground clearance, you might want to walk the 1/4 mile to the bridge or skip this one.
