点评：The King's Palace Tour was very interesting. It's not as amazing as what you see in The Big Room, and it's very different than The Natural Entrance Tour, but unlike those two main tours you get to see areas of the cave that most people never see - in the lowest parts of the cave. Also the number of people on the tour is limited, so it feels less crowded than the rest of the cave can get during busy times.
While the two main tours (The Big Room and The Natural Entrance Tour) are self-guided, The King's Palace Tour is guided by a ranger. So, you can learn a lot more about the cave's origins, the formations, the history, and a lot of interesting stories.
You definitely need to make reservations in advance on the National Park System's website for Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Reservations go on sale one month before the date you want. If it's a busy time of year, get on there right when the tickets go on sale. You only pay $1 online for the reservation, then you pay the rest of the fee when you get to the park.
Sadly this is the only guided tour that Carlsbad Caverns currently runs. They used to have several other tours, but they don't have the budget to run those anymore. There aren't enough park rangers. So, tell your congress people to support the National Park System with more funding.
