点评：During our trip to the Austrian Alps, we visited Hallstatt—and it truly is one of the most beautiful towns we have ever seen. With its charming houses, dramatic mountain backdrop, and lake views, it feels like stepping into a postcard. It’s no wonder so many movies and stories have drawn inspiration from this magical place.
That said, it’s important for visitors to remember that Hallstatt is not an open-air museum—it’s a real town where people live. Out of respect for the residents, tourists should be mindful of noise, private property, and the sheer number of visitors the town receives every day. We also noticed that the locals are not particularly welcoming to tourists, and in some cases came across as rather unfriendly. While this was disappointing, it’s perhaps understandable given how overwhelmed the town can get with visitors.
Despite that, the charm and beauty of Hallstatt make it a destination worth experiencing—just go with respect, patience, and an understanding of the local sentiment.
