点评:We had a wonderful visit to the James W Jones museum. It just popped up on our Google map so we decided to check it out. We were very interested in learning more about the Underground Railroad. We were greeted by a local docent, Cleveland Thrower. Mr. Thrower is quite knowledgeable and spent about an hour telling us about the history of the home, John W. Jones, and other details from that time. There are only a few artifacts in the home, but the home itself is significant as hundreds of former slaves passed through on their way to freedom in Canada. You can see some of the original architecture, and it is meaningful to stand in a space that was part of a liberation journey for so many. It’s definitely worth the stop, and give yourself at least an hour. And on the way out, don’t forget to stop for ice cream at Big Top :-)
