点评:The Middle Bridge in Basel is the site of the first bridge across the Rhine. It is the reason that Switzerland has both sides of the Rhine and why Klein Basel became a part of the city.
The stone bridge that exists today was built in the 19th Century in a time when two additional bridges were built which made this the Middle Bridge. During your visit to Basel, you should cross the river at some time, and this is the bridge to cross with the best views of both Gross and Klein Basel. We had the chance to cross the bridge twice during our stay and float underneath it once. No matter which side of Basel you stay, no visit is complete without seeing both sides.
This is a great piece of infrastructure and architectural significance for the city. You can walk, bike or take the tram across it. It also has a chapel in the middle of the bridge where you can visit and say a prayer. Both the views from it as well as the views of it are perfect pictures for the city. Finally in front of the upstream pier closest to Klein Basel is a monument to the three Rhine ferries in the city in the Rhine river.
