Great choice in the Garden Centre, sadly let down by the cafe staff!

点评：Having visited this Garden Centre several times on our visits to the Lake District we have always been amazed by the variety of goods for sale. There are still lots of items on sale and with such variety there must be something for everyone. Sadly the cafe has lost it's charm, the counter now manned by surly staff, who are not helpful at all. We arrived mid afternoon so purchased drinks and scones with butter. The drinks took so long to arrive that I went back to the counter to ask if they were on their way, only to have my "head bitten off" by a staff member who barked that the drinks had just been delivered to our table. No apology for the delay just a verbal admonishment for having the effrontery to speak up. I noticed after I left that we had been charged for preserves despite not being offered any when ordering. If preserves are compulsory then surely they should be provided and if a customer orders scones and butter only then that is what should be charged for.
