点评:Porto di Trani is a very pleasant fishing port, which is quite impressive in size, especially when you consider that Trani isn't the biggest of places. It is a working harbour, and the local fishermen still bring in their catch on a daily basis. The harbour entrance is flanked by the imposing Cathedral of San Nicola Pellegrino di Trani on the western side and the very pleasant Villa Comunale gardens to the East and the seafront promenade that circumnavigates the harbour is really good to stroll along as it is lined with restaurants and bars along its length, as well as the odd ice crème parlour and local bakery more towards the Villa Comunale end. Several of the bars and restaurants at this end also have tables right on the Adriatic Sea and the vista across the harbour back to the Cathedral is quite dramatic.
Perhaps because Trani is sandwiched between Bari and Barletta and you need to divert off the SS16 to get here it felt more local and not as touristic as some of the other towns we visited in Puglia. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and would recommend the detour to enjoy it.
