点评：Ca’ del Baio has been one of our favorite wineries – even overall favorite places – in Italy for three trips and many, many years. What a fabulous facility run by an even more fabulous group of people – mostly women! Mom, dad, sisters Paola, Federica and Valentina, and ‘adopted’ sister Federica go well beyond welcoming when greeting and hosting visitors. On our first trip, we were even invited to eat with the family and that meal remains perhaps the best one we’ve ever had in Italy.
Our latest trip, in the fall of 2024, came at a difficult time as the grapes were ripening in the fields and the rain was nearly constant. The day of our visit, the rain finally provided a reprieve and we would have been happy to leave them to their incredibly heavy workload by skipping this visit, but they were, as always, ready and willing to share their wonderful wines and amazing charm with us.
Federica (who calls herself their adopted sister), charmed us from the moment we entered the courtyard until we left hours later. Her warmth reflects the attitude of the family and the winery.
For us, no trip to Italy would be complete without a trip to Ca’ del Baio.
