Unforgettable Gorilla Trekking Experience – A Perfect Finale to Our Uganda Trip!

点评：During our six-week medical internship in Uganda, two fellow students and I were determined to see as much of the country as possible. After exploring many of its beautiful regions, we realized one essential adventure was still missing from our list: gorilla trekking.
A quick Google search led us to Rachel, who we contacted via WhatsApp. Despite our very last-minute planning (just one week in advance), Rachel was incredibly helpful and efficient. She promptly provided us with detailed information and several great options tailored to our tight schedule.
We chose the 3-day gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi, which included one day of trekking and two travel days from Kampala. We were fortunate to be assigned Godwin as our guide—and what a stroke of luck that was. Godwin is not only highly experienced and knowledgeable about Uganda’s culture and wildlife, but also exceptionally kind, patient, and professional. He kept us informed and entertained throughout the journey, making sure we were comfortable with plenty of snacks, fresh water, and bathroom stops.
In Bwindi, we stayed in one of the budget accommodations arranged for us, and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked it. Despite being a more affordable option, it was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed—including a hot shower, which we hadn’t had in quite some time!
Thanks to Godwin’s strong local connections, we were also matched with an excellent trekking guide who led us to an amazing gorilla family—an encounter we’ll never forget.
This trip was a true highlight of our time in Uganda and the perfect way to end our stay. We can’t recommend it highly enough!
