点评:I have been going to the mesa country and Black Mesa State Park for some 50 years. The state park itself has improved substantially in recent years. Attracts birds and waterfowl. There are now a series of trails, and the creek area allowing natural vegetation to prosper has been more inviting for nature and bird watching. They cleared it for a while a while back, and it was not good for the critters, but the trees and weeds now present are a boon for nature watching--from birds to butterflies to dragonflies to lizards. It has the darkest skies in the country (on a new moon). Staying up, or just waking up in the middle of the night has been an awesome and jaw-dropping experience (like holy cow!!!) enhanced by the way they they control lighting. Makes it a unique place in Oklahoma. It is a wild open space place, and I hope they recognize the value of dark skies and habitat for the critters they have out there and make it even better.
