点评：FANTASTIC home to visit but YOU MUST BOOK IN ADVANCE. So we planned ahead and visited this house and all went smoothly. The staff were amazing, attentive and polite and allow you to walk freely and take photographs of the house and it's garden. The views from the rooms and garden are amazing and you can see why the wonderful Leigh-Fermour’s built this beautiful home. There is a very small shop where you can buy gifts etc. The house was well worth the time and effort to visit and we stayed for an hour before going for a swim at the beach next door (at the bottom of the parking area).
It is only open to visitors on Mondays at 1100 Hrs (local) who have pre-bought their tickets. There is NO option to purchase tickets at the site, and we saw local people being politely turned away. Tickets are only 5-00 Euros each and available on the Benaki Museum website THE LEIGH FERMOR HOUSE - Benaki Museum and the doors open at 1100 Hrs prompt and all tickets checked before anyone is allowed in. There are certain rooms and areas that are out of bounds to the Monday visitors as they are used by either the staff or people who are staying there. Parking is nearby (and there’s a decent beach there too which is worth a visit but it has no shops/toilets etc so take water and food – or just stay an hour or so).
