Great experience; would be even better if it felt like more like travelling
Nomadic Off-Road的点评
点评：First of all, the trip (orkhon waterfall) is a great experience and Mongolia is a beautiful country and a true off road paradise. The team is considerate, and provide service with regards to airport pickup and drop off, and throughout the trip. The bikes are in great shape, perfectly maintained. There is an initiation and goodbye dinner included, both times in a great restaurant. The food during the trip is of good quality and very tasty. All staff are very friendly and accomodating.
Big plus is the fact that they can accomodate dietary preferences.
However, it’s 100% a motorcycle riding experience, more than a journey/travel experience. More effort could be made to also explore the Mongolian culture (in our case the only contact with the culture was an unguided quick stop at a temple and a quick stop with a Mongolian family, in both cases without much explanation). Apart from the meals in the evening, no activities are organised, which feels like a missed opportunity to let guests learn about Mongolian culture.
Also good to know:
- helicopter intervention can only be arranged 24-48h after a trauma. Luckily, we didn’t suffer any injuries, but a broken bone is not unlikely. I that case, of course, no trauma helicopter intervention is needed, but be aware that in case of a very serious injury, you may not be able to get the medical intervention needed in this remote area.
- gear rental can be costly, since every item that is damaged needs to be purchased (I.e., not part of the insurance). In that case, they only offer 20% off the retail price, although the items you’re wearing are far from new. I’d consider bringing my own gear next time.
Overall a great experience.
