An unforgettable experience! Best present for my 30th birthday!

点评：My girlfriend booked a half day experience for my 30th birthday today as elephants are my absolute favourite animal.
We arrived at 6 45 and were met by a pleasant guy (can't remember his name sorry!) He took us up to the stables just as the ellies were getting ready for the day.
We went and fed Tembo his breakfast one to one where we met Brighton. Let me tell you, Brighton loves Tembo, probably more than his family. Hes been with Tembo since 2003 and you can tell they have an inseparable bond. He really loves and care for Tembo.
We then got taken back to the stables where we were put to work, helping the stable hands muck out and lay fresh bedding.
We then had our breakfast where we joined a group talk and were shown a demonstration of how they train the ellies on a ask and reward basis.
After the group talk, Brighton took me and my girlfriend out into the bush area where we watched the ellies for nearly 2 hours having their brunch. You really get to see how majestic these big giants are. We even had Zizi playing the clown and being a bit defiant.
After we were served a wonderful lunch prepared by Connie we got to go for a short ride on tembo and we really didn't realise how big he is until we were up there!
An absolutely wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone.
For those worried about animal cruelty, not once did i think those elephants were being abused or stressed. They have a 40 acre area where they roam freely between interactions and a ridiculous 4200acre area you can't see for the quiet times. You can tell the grooms absolutely adore these animals and love them to pieces. They are only kept in their stables for the evening.
I strongly advise you read the back story (although tembos is slightly different) before judging. These gorgeous, intelligent, gentle giants are really being pampered!
