An excellent Peru birding experience!
South Birding Peru的点评
点评："We are 6 keen birders who have just come home from a fantastic 3 week tour with Jesús Ciesa and South Birding Peru.
Absolutely everything was on par with or above expectations! And expectations were set high already after having had excellent feedback from friends who chose South Birding Peru in recent time.
Great accommodations, superb calm and safe drivers, fantastic coordination of all transports, bookings, flights etc. by Jesús' partner Lisset and all arrangements with consistent focus on supporting local providers, communities and conservation efforts.
Throughout the trip we've been in the excellent company of Jesús with his outstanding skills in hearing, spotting, identifying birds and other creatures and consistently guiding all in the group to get great views. Yet likewise always concerned not to disturb any bird or animal more than absolutely necessary.
Jesús' knowledge is outstanding not only in birds but in reptiles, mammals, ecology, history, culture and more.
We did the Cusco area, Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. Continued down Manu Road and back, then flight to Puerto Maldonado for further Amazon birding in Tambopata.
Next flight to Chiclayo via Lima (including a hit and run stop by the sea) and then continued with the best of Tumbe's specialities, more cloud forest and then dedicated birding along the Marañon river valley. We closed the loop via Celendin-Chonta River-Cajamarca and returned to Lima. Roughly 600 species in total, nearly all targets ticked and not a sad face :-)
