Grimsey, a little pearl on the artic circle and perfect destination for a daytrip

点评：Although the fjord and Grimsey were covered in mist most of the day, I dindn't regret the trip there for 1 second!
We had a smooth 3 hours ride on the ferry. Although we couldn't see much of the fjord we spotted some dolphins and I had interesting talks with soms co-travellers.
Grimsey must be really beautiful in clear weather, but even with the fog I could still appreciate the nice bays and cliffs and loved the hike around the islands. There's enough time to get around...even if you have to stop so many times to admire the thousands, if not millions, of puffins and other seabirds.
Due to the mist I nearly missed the ball/art work that marks the arctic circle, luckily google helped me to retreat my steps in time:)
Ik had a tasty "cod dog" at the foodtruck upon arrival in the harbor, to make sure I had enough time...and energy for the hike and was back in time in the village at the harbor to have a quick look in the cosy shop with local products in the guesthouse and a nice dessert in the small friendly restaurant.
Halfway through our return trip on the ferry the sky suddenly cleared and the sun came through treating us to a beautiful magic light show over the fjord..even spotting some whales for a perfect ending to a perfect day.
