I had the pleasure of visiting Mountain View Horse Riding Center in Lisdoonvarna, and I can’t recommend it enough! From start to finish, it was a truly memorable experience.
First, the horses – I had the joy of riding two stunning Irish Cobs, Jasper and Tinkerbell. Both horses were incredibly well-trained, sturdy, and gentle. They made the ride feel easy and relaxed, while still offering the thrill of exploring the gorgeous Burren landscape. Jasper was a solid, reliable mount, while Tinkerbell was just the right combination of spirited and sweet. It was clear these horses are well-loved and cared for.
Our guide, Peter, was absolutely fantastic. Not only was he knowledgeable about the local area and the Burren’s unique beauty, but he had a great sense of humor that kept us entertained throughout the ride. His personal connection to the land, being from the area, made the experience feel even more special – it was like being shown around by a friend who genuinely cared about the place.
The scenery was breathtaking – rolling hills, rugged terrain, and the famous limestone landscape of the Burren. The weather was perfect that day, which made the whole experience even more magical. We rode through Peter’s ancestral lands, which gave the ride a personal touch that you don’t often get when booking these kinds of activities.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, I highly recommend Mountain View Horse Riding Center. It’s a perfect way to experience the Burren, enjoy some time with amazing horses, and be guided by someone who knows and loves the land.
