Serviceton Historic Railway Station的点评
点评：Well this building and its history has more to offer than meets the eye!
Well worth a stop and a diversion off the main highway.
We were travelling from Adelaide to Horsham and had been told by a friend to make sure we called in to see the Serviceton Historical Railway Station along the way( about 1 1/2 hours out of Horsham) .
We rocked up… it looked deserted but as we were standing on the platform a man approached us and started sharing his knowledge with us.
“Les” has been a major volunteer (practically the only one left) for many years and knows every inch of the building, which unbelievably he gave us a guided tour of and a comprehensive explanation of what was what.
How privileged were we!
Did you know the station even had its own prisoner holding cells(16 of them) and even a short term morgue. Unbelievable!
Thanks Les, what you are doing and have done for us all as a community in honouring this amazing building and its history is remarkable.
Thank you, for the time , effort, passion and knowledge you continue to share with us all.
Ps They have a small donation box that suggests a $2 donation… may I suggest you pop a few extra bob than that in there. It is well worth it
