点评：As time passes, those who do not live on/near the Gulf Coast may not be aware or remember that communities along the Gulf in states other than Louisiana were deeply impacted by Hurricane Katrina. That history must not get lost. The memorial in a park in Biloxi honors victims from the Mississippi coast. Please provide perpetual care to this monument and to the Biloxi Town Green on which it stands.
In particular, the fiberglass case that preserves a collection of items donated by families of the victims should be restored; unfortunately, disrespectful vandals have damaged it.
Notice that the accompanying photos feature (1) the name of William Garcia etched into the monument and (2) a customized stein for this U.S. Army veteran that is preserved in the relics case.
A visit to the Hurricane Katrina Memorial should be on the top of the lists of "Things to Do" in Biloxi and in communities throughout the region.
