Loved McCarthy's
McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary的点评
点评：Great spot! McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary is a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and protection of native animals. In addition to providing lifelong care to the animals they take in, they treat and rehabilitate sick, injured, or orphaned animals.
The facility is well laid out and there are a lot of trees, so even on the very hot sunny day we went, it was bearable. The animals are well cared for, nicely displayed in cages and large pens for the larger animals like tigers, lions, etc.
You must book a tour for entry... and it's very popular so book well in advance. You have to call, no online resys.
Our tour was led by Jeremy... an easy going guy with a clear passion for animals. You can tell right away that it's going to be a great time. He was very engaging, described all the animals and where they came from and answered every question. The pace is leisurely and you get to see a lot of animals, and interact with them, if you wish, for those where it's safe to do so.
The last stop is the reptile house, where there are a lot of snakes and other things... even a Tarantula.
Don't miss seeing the Rattlesnake where you can hear the rattle. The birds are fun as they talk a lot. I particularly liked the Lions as they paced around checking everyone out.
Great for all ages!
