点评:This tribute to the shearers who carried Australia through last century is fabulously sensitive and professionally constructed… set in the heartland of Merino Central I was captivated and enthralled.
Photos, relics, sniff boxes to imbibe lanolin, tar and even sheep urine, vivid displays, heroes and champions celebrated for extraordinary feats, the meals taken in a typical day vividly captured (but possibly overstated), who were the “ducks on the pond”, the amazing gates to the car park with old shears, cafe, gift shop, and a working woolshed “Murray Downs” and Jack the working shearer.
It’s so well laid out and will take over 1-2 hours to do it justice. Small fee compared to the invaluable treasures within.
Even if you are on you the long trek across the Hay plains to or from Adelaide this is an oasis in the pancake flat landscape.
