Rude Cafe Staff

点评：I would like to begin this review by stating that this is aimed at the café within the park, not the park itself.
I regularly visit this park and every time the staff at the café are very rude. It seems to be run by quite young staff members, we have never seen anyone over the age of, I’d say 25 and I’ve never seen a manager there. So today myself a friend, our two babies and my dog visited the café and sat in the part outside, under shelter bit. I went into the cafe after my friend and I waited for the person in front of me to be served. When I got to the front, the person behind the till just ignored me and started manoeuvering the cakes, looking into the distance, talking to her colleague at the coffee machine and didn’t acknowledge me for a good couple of minutes. I then ordered a hot chocolate, I initially said I wanted whipped cream but then asked for that to be taken off, she then took awhile changing it on the machine and still tried to charge me for a hot chocolate with whipped cream. When I told her that it was £3.50 without the whipped cream, she said, ‘but you wanted whipped cream’. I tried to be polite and say, but I asked you to take it off and she again said, ‘but you said that you wanted whipped cream’. It was like having a pointless argument with a child. After we finally resolved the whipped cream gate, she didn’t say anything and I asked her if she wanted my table number, she told me to wait for my drink, I asked her could you add it onto my friends tray with her Panini that’s coming out to our table and she just gave me a bit of a dead pan brazen look. She then turned to the other staff member stood at the coffee machine, said something under her breath and they had a bit of a giggle. Again like children.
My friend’s Panini was finally bought out without any cutlery, she had to go and ask for the cutlery and then they gave her my drink in a takeaway cup and told her ‘we think this is your friends’…
All the while we were there it was not very busy. There were two other tables next to us full of dirty plates, cups and litter that none of the staff were clearing away even though they most definitely had enough staff to handle the amount of customers. You can see this in the photos. We were there for about half an hour and this was cleared at the very end of our sitting.
During this time the girl at the coffee machine went out and had a cigarette very close to where we were sat with some other friends. I believe one was from the kitchen and two were just friends visiting the park and they were very loud. On the way in from her cigarette, she finally cleared the tables.
Also towards the end of our sitting two ladies and a baby were brought out their drinks in mugs by the lady who served us and was extremely rude. She even looked at me as she walked back in with a dead pan stare.
It’s awful Customer Service, they shouldn’t be working in that environment and they most definitely shouldn’t have the responsibility that they seem to have, also to have no managerial responsibility above them. I don’t expect to pay their prices along with the car park prices and be spoken to or treated differently from other people.. they are very discriminative.
