点评:I have recently been to Con Hill with international visitors who were interested in art and law and as their time was limited I took them to Constitution Hill for a brief overview and to visit the COurt and the Art collection. I was there a second time to film a tour for a person who was studying to become a registered Tourist Guide and neither was an easy experience.
I went for a guided tour of the new Art collection 'Aluta Continua' and on each of the above occasions I was greeted by a very hostile security guard at the public parking who insisted that it is only possible to park there if I am going to pay and do a tour of Constitution Hill and if I am going to the Constitutional court I need to park at the Court parking. The first time I went there and was politely told by the security there that Their parking is for the staff and I needed to go to the public parking........ Eventually with consisted refusal to let me in I parked outside the court building were my car was visible to the security as it was clear that I would not get in. I have tried on numerous occasions to get hold of someone at Constitution Hill to advise how to address this - but as always the person that I need to speak to is not available - leave a message. Still waiting for a response. I have sent emails and still no response. I am a South African Citizen, I have lived through these times and know people that were incarcerated. The fact that I have to fight to get in does not make sense. To be with important international guests and to be refused entry to walk the fort is extremely embarrising - this space is here to tell a tale of brutality - is it necessary for this kind of behaviour from the security at Consititution Hill. The security at the Constitutional Court are courteous and friendly. Going forward I will not be taking visitors to Constutional Hill but will go to Freedom Park where the staff are amazing and the exhibition and landscape is inspiring
