点评：I’ve traveled to some truly breathtaking places, but nothing quite compares to Oswald West State Park. As a photographer and filmmaker from the East Coast, I’m always chasing the perfect shot—but here, the beauty was so overwhelming, I knew no camera could ever do it justice.
Hiking through Oswald West with my high school friend was an experience I won’t forget. The moment we stepped onto the trail, we were surrounded by dense, towering evergreens, the scent of pine and damp earth filling the air. The trail wound through a gorgeous, moss-draped forest, with sunlight filtering through the canopy, creating an almost mystical glow.
Then, suddenly—the view opened up, and we were standing on a ridge looking out at one of the most surreal landscapes I’ve ever seen. Below us, the emerald blue Pacific Ocean stretched endlessly, waves crashing against rugged cliffs and golden-sand beaches. The way the sea spray caught the golden Pacific sunlight was mesmerizing, creating a misty haze that looked straight out of a dream. It was the kind of view that makes you stop in your tracks and just take it all in.
What makes Oswald West State Park so special is how it seamlessly blends forest and coastline—one moment you’re surrounded by thick, ancient trees, and the next, you’re standing at the edge of the world, looking out at the Pacific. Rolling green hills, jagged rocky cliffs, and the raw, untamed power of the ocean all converge here in a way that feels almost unreal.
I snapped as many photos as I could on my iPhone 13, but honestly, no lens could ever fully capture the scale, the colors, or the feeling of being there in that moment. This is a place that needs to be seen, felt, and experienced—pictures just don’t do it justice.
