Probably the best way to see Mount Olympus without hiking it

点评：The park information center provided a great overview of geology, flora, and fauna of the national park. It ingeniously leads you on an upward path that the mirrors what you would see if you actually climbed the mountain. From the information center, drive uphill on a paved road about 10 minutes to the Stavros Refuge-Shelter D for an excellent view of Mount Olympus (without having to hike the actual mountain). After parking the car at the Stavros Refuge, take a short walk uphill behind the building and there is a path to information signs that identify and explain the various peaks of Mount Olympus. Continue on the path past the signage for a superb view of Mount Olympus framed by peaks covered in fir trees. After getting back in your car, take the paved road further uphill (about 20 minutes) to Prionia. Although you can no longer see the highest peaks of Mount Olympus from here, there is a cozy lodge where you can get refreshments and souvenirs. At the bottom of the parking lot, cross a nearby wooden bridge to take a short stroll along a mountain stream where you will see interesting rocks and small waterfalls. The drive each way from the park information center to Prionia takes only about 30 minutes in total, and it is well worth your time.
