Fame Recording Studios的点评
点评：We visited all three recording studios (FAME, Muscle Shoals and Cypress Moon) while in town and this was our second favorite (Cypress Moon was outstanding.) The FAME studio visit has a totally different atmosphere from Cypress Moon, thus making both visits worthwhile. Before going I suggest you see the YouTube documentary called Muscle Shoals which is mainly about Rick Hall and how he started the Muscle Shoals sound. It's a great background set-up for your visit.
Tickets are easy to purchase on their website with a choice of the regular tour at $20 and a VIP tour at $40. We did the regular tour as I didn't see the additional value of the VIP tour, getting to see the office of Rick Hall.
Our guide was excellent on 10/7 - gave a very good time line, showed us the sound studios, played some music and we saw lots of memorabilia. I appreciated the opportunity to ask questions, take pictures and absorb the amazing history.
It's obvious that these tours and the merch they sale, are monetarily important to keep the recording studios functioning, available to artists and providing it's history to guests. Since Rick Hall's death, big name artists aren't frequent but the history is worth keeping the studios alive.
