A nice cinema ruined by Oldham Council's greed

点评：Odeon Oldham state on their website (at the time of writing the review) that the Town Square car park is free after 6pm for their customers to be able to visit, presumably this was the deal struck with the council when they opened. Of course, when we arrive, the greedy council have changed the charging time to 24 hours. The car park was completely empty. This is not the fault of the cinema, but how is the council supporting businesses like the Odeon, how are they supposed to compete with the out of town complexes when you have a council as greedy as Oldham who just refuse to support their town. You can park in big towns like Halifax for free after 6pm, yet Oldham think it's ok to charge. They have hardly any street parking now and the place is horrible to drive around looking. By the time you arrive at the cinema you are cold, wet, and aggravated with the town. The cinema itself was nice, all the staff were really friendly but why would you come here when you can park so easily at any of their competitors. It is a disgrace that Oldham Council don't have a free car park or an arrangement with Odeon to provide free parking in evenings, there's no way I'd come again, it was too stressful and on principle I won't pay to park for a cinema visit.
