We visited Bluemont Vineyard on November 7 as part of a birthday celebration for my wife, with a group of 20. Unfortunately, this was a big mistake. From the moment we arrived, there is ni drip off for elders or pkace gor a mini coach to go; it was clear the staff was disorganized, with no one to greet us or provide direction. Our group wandered without guidance and waited over an hour and a half just to be seated- we had a prepaid reservation.
The lack of trained staff was evident, and no one took accountability. As the sun began to set and the temperature dropped, our group was left freezing outside. No one offered us an alternative or suggested moving indoors to stay warm. Told of stairs in back- that would have been smart and proactive.
Finally, with no service we suggested packing up the wine for us to take home. This took another half hour and we were all tired of nothing. The experience cast a shadow over what was a gear day to that point.
If you’re planning a special occasion, avoid Bluemont Vineyard. If you go majestic someone be accountable. The management clearly needs to address major service issues to meet even basic expectations.
