It’s cute but bad expensive food
Hi-Rise Beach Bar的点评
点评：The place is actually very cute with a beach theme and good touristy reggae music.
The food, however, takes forever to come.
It is mediocre at best.
The coffee they sell for over 5 USD is not drinkable. It tastes terrible. Almost like dish wash water.
I have had some good and bad coffee in my life but this has to be the worst coffee I have ever tasted. If you pay in USD you will be ripped off.
So it’s better to have local currency.
We did not ask to not pay for the coffee, but if I was the waiter abonde I saw customers did not drink or eat what they ordered - I would ask if anything is wrong.
The fruit juice was actually good.
When we paid we were told that the exchange rate is 2.5 to usd. It really is a usd pegged currency - 2.7. But ok we were leaving and did not have any further local currency.
Calculating was not the strongest suit of the waitress. She ran after us for 2 usd - which we did not owe and did not give her. I personally did not like that it was a non smoking establishment - but many people will like that.
I would not recommend the place- it’s a tourist rip off with horrible coffee and bad food.
I went to Lacou Melrose house around the corner the day before - that was more expensive but it was excellent - worth the money.
