Interesting little tour
The Glenturret Distillery的点评
点评：Big fan of Glen Turret single malt which I only discovered a few years ago
Staying at Gleneagles hotel and discovered by chance that the glenturret distillery was only about a 15 minute drive away so we decided to take it in
Glad we did
The tour was hugely informative
Oldest distillery in Scotland it turns out
The reason I’d never heard of it was it didn’t exist as a single malt brand until 2019 when the distillery was bought by Lalique (the glass makers) I discovered, Before that it had solely provided its whiskey to be blended in famous grouse - which is criminal!
Famous grouses loss is definitely our gain! Lovely whiskey
The distillery itself is very small and very traditional - you really got close up to the process on the tour
Andrew our guide was very interesting and quite humorous
I really liked how he went into quite scientific detail about the process and the impact of peat on the flavour - really informative and passionate
Bought a bottle o 12 year old malt in the shop at the end which is a whiskey lovers haven
I think one of the things that sets glenturret apart is its beautiful art deco style bottle - which makes sense given the link to Lalique (which I hadn’t known)
They also have a two star Michelin restaurant on site, one of only 2 in Scotland, the other being the Andrew Fairlie up at Gleneagles where we were eating that night!
I will definitely come back to try this one though

参观结束后，我在商店里买了一瓶12年陈酿的麦芽威士忌，那里简直是威士忌爱好者的天堂。
我认为格兰图雷特威士忌的独特之处在于它精美的装饰艺术风格酒瓶——考虑到它与莱俪的渊源（我之前并不知道），这一点也就不难理解了。
酒厂内还设有一家米其林二星餐厅，这是苏格兰仅有的两家之一，另一家是格伦伊格尔斯酒店的安德鲁·费尔利餐厅，我们那天晚上就在那里用餐！
我一定会再来品尝这家酒厂的威士忌。
20英镑的参观费用非常划算。
