Beautiful site but disappointing, not the experience I expected.

点评：I was expecting a relaxing luxury experience at the Gaia spa, as I had heard so many good things about it.
I do have MS and mobility issues which I advised on booking however i was not aware of the large number of steep stairs that I would be required to go up and down multiple times during my visit, the small lift was broken. This caused me a lot of pain and distress however it was laughed off or ignored whenever I mentioned the issue.
My friend and I had a whole day package including a hot stone massage, this experience was amazing, the afternoon tea was superb ,these were the highlights,
However there were a lot of negatives.
The spa reception gave very little information, we were allocated small lockers that were ridiculously high and difficult to access. The only area we were shown was the pool, it was unbearably hot in there , a lot of people, far too many for the space were constantly coming in, there are only about a dozen seats/ beds to go around and this was causing friction.
We did get a bed as we had arrived early in the day and went to order a drink using the QR code / APP but only iPhone users could download the app. I don't know if there was free wi-fi as we weren't provided with any guest info except for the itinerary. I didn't see any staff checking on guests or asking about drinks etc
Some guest information showing where you could go, (there were a couple of relaxation rooms that were never mentioned and empty) where the toilets are ( none on the top floor restaurant area) and advice would have been so helpful.
Unluckily for us our treatment was the last of the day, we were supposed to be having chocolates and champagne afterwards however this never arrived, reception was deserted ,no one to ask anywhere. The final nail in the coffin of many disappointments really.
Overall the location is beautiful, treatments wonderful and food delicious however after 10 minutes of arrival I felt that it wasn't the luxury relaxing experience I was expecting,far from it. There were a lot of reception staff who were busy but didn't have a friendly manner. The nicest most helpful staff member we encountered was a cleaner who was lovely .
I would return for a massage but not another 'spa' experience, they are cashing in on reputation but letting down those paying the high prices.
