Wellmont is great -- Ignore the aristocratic reviews of abrasive security.

点评：Man... , there's a number of folks mentioning security is abrasive or extra, what with the metal detector wands and pat downs. Wellmont theater is a great little venue that punches incredibly far above its weight class with the routine flow of top talent that rolls through there. My wife, friends, and I have visited numerous times (and continue to do so) for shows from improv, to stand up, to music of varied genres, all for internationally recognized entertainment artists. Drinks are a little expensive but nothing unexpected, but otherwise no major issues for such an old theater.
Is security a little abrasive? Perhaps. But they at times have a lot of people to handle and wellmont is small so it quickly turns into a bottleneck so they need to get s*** done. As far as the wands and/or pat downs go, how can people be so outraged at extra security and peace of mind that they leave a 1 star review? Really? From what royal palace do they hail? This happens at so many concert venues. These cave trolls need to leave their basement and get out of the house once in a while. Go enjoy a show at wellmont, the local food is great, bars in Montclair are also very good. Absolutely worth it to do a dinner and a show here.
