Honestly cannot recommend as much as I wanted to
Shiga Kogen Ski Resort的点评
点评：The hotel is lovely but dated. Tiny toilets, fluctuating freezing to hot water, limited climate control and poor WiFi. Food was great and staff tried their best always. Hotel improvements obviously would be the update of the above and then a real improvement on getting customers too/from the resort or at least to the transport 200m away. Imagine dragging 4 bags through 6 inches of snow with nobody to help as your welcome or farewell.
It’s not really a hotel issue but overall but the resort. I don’t mean conditions (perfect at the time) but their understanding of tourism and ski tourists. There is nothing nearby. No cafe, no restaurant without a car, no shopping, no minimarts, no pharmacy, no doctor nothing to do but ski. Transport is few and far between. We got stuck once for nearly 2 hours waiting for the next bus in the snow (in the middle of the day).
If you aren’t a very competent skier, then traversing across the mountain from this resort isn’t possible. beginners have only a small area which is monotonous fast. Ski Hire options are negligible and poor quality. Nobody is there to wax or assist you with technical issues.
It’s almost like they forgot tourist were coming and they should cater for them. It’s more like surviving not thriving. Such an incredible place and so poorly run. How I wish I had the money to take over and show them what to do.
In conclusion, is it a bad hotel? No. Would you go again….never. Would you recommend the overall resort and hotel to friends….absolutely not.
