Amazing diving for kids
Undersea World Scuba Diving的点评
点评：Seeing how clear sea water in Cyprus is, I decided that is time for kid to try diving. In Pyla, luckily for us we contacted Undersea World Scuba Diving center staff. Diving instructors were friendly and honest about that we will see and encounter. And after giving us an extra discount we said yes.
Next morning we had shuttle to Ayia Napa and then short but detailed instructions and after that we were driven to Protaras Green Bay. We were only three people - me, kid and instructor - big contrast to other diving places in other parts of the world. As I had previous diving experience then I was surprised how professional instruction was for beginning divers and at no moment kid was afraid even then doing under water with no air mask exercise.
In my opinion Green Bay is an amazing place for a first dive as there are no waves and entrance into sea is gradual. Diving in Green Bay was very relaxing and interesting for first divers as shortly you will dive through a lot of fishes. Diving deeper between large rocks you will see some sea urchins and some colorful fishes. At the deepest point (10m) there is a sculpture park with statues - looking up it did not feel so deep at all. Total diving time was around 50 minutes and while diving we did not see any turtles (luckily for us we went to another beach the next day and had the opportunity to swim with turtle for more than three hours).
Comparing to other diving place around world, Cyprus has excellent visibility and water is very warm, but Cyprus diving community suffers from overfishing in Mediterranean Sea.
