December visit to Kukke Subramanya
Kukke Shree Subramanya Temple的点评
点评：I have been meaning to visit this temple for a long time. I had always heard people rave about the scenic beauty of the place and the spiritual aura of the temple. We were in Sakleshpur for the winter break and used the opportunity to visit the temple for a day trip en route to Dharmasthala. We took the Bangalore mangalore highway - the road seemed to be in disrepair in that stretch and vehicle movement was hard due to ghats section. Since we chose to drive very early in the morning we didn’t face too many traffic challenges. We took a left turn towards Kukke on the bandadka-bengaluru road which was quite scenic with dense green foliage on both sides for a majority of the duration. The temple town is small and charming and in the early hours the crowd was thin. We could notice a few devotees doing Anga Pradakshina ( devotees roll lying on the road from far distance to the temple premises ). There was a makeshift tent arrangements for an upcoming event. The main temple structure seemed very familiarly Dravidian architecture with its majestic Gopura towering towards the skies flanked by the verdant green hills. After depositing our footwear we headed to the darshan.
Given the time of the day we were lucky to queue up and have our darshan in a relatively quick time. The crowd was well behaved and the processes were all well organized leading to a peaceful spiritual experience.
The interiors of the temple premise has a bit of a feel of a Kerala temple with lots of wood and tiles. Overall it was a super pleasant experience and I recommend people to add this to their list of places to visit when in the area
