点评:On the NSW Central Coast is a suburb called The Entrance.
Yes really that is it's name.
It refers to the channel between the ocean and the lake and has the potential to be very dangerous. The lake fills and empties with the ocean tides.
One minute there is a deep turbulent rush of water coming into the lake and later it is running out. It is not obvious to the eye. Especially if you are unfamiliar with the channel. Locals avoid it. If you are a visitor from overseas or even from elsewhere in Australia.
May I suggest the Ocean baths as a safe alternative.
Clean and safe. Shade from the sun. It is free of charge and is currently under going a shower and toilet facilities upgrade. The views are amazing from the roof of the swimming club or from the pool itself . There is a 50m pool a smaller shallow pool and a baby pool which is covered by a shade sail. There are free showers next to the pool to rinse the salt water off. In summer there is a kiosk and yes there are life guards on patrol at certain times.
If you are staying at The Entrance go there at night for a wonderful view of the night sky. You can see the North Head lighthouse from there too.
Happy safe holidays everyone!
